You will just need a valid QMAP through the State of Colorado!$6,000 Sign-on Bonus!Position SummaryThe PC Unit Certified Medication Aide assists in the administering of medications as ordered by the attending physician under the direction of the attending physician, the nurse supervisor, or unit care coordinator in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Education, Experience, and Licensure RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentGraduate of a State approved CNA programCurrently registered/licensed in applicable State.
Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
One (1) year geriatric nursing experience preferredCPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation.
CPR certification must remain current during employment.
Must have successfully completed a State approved program and exam for Certified Medication AideSpecific Job RequirementsMake independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionKnowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facilityImplement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the departmentPerform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to:
patient rights, and safety and sanitationMaintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationUnderstand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance proceduresDisplays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance trainingEssential FunctionsAccurately and safely prepare, administer, store, and document the oral and/or topical medications that are commonly used in the facility as well as those which may be ordered by the attending physicianAssist in developing and implementing procedures to assess potential medication errors; when, where, and why they occur; and how they can be prevented.
Report any suspected or actual medication discrepancies to supervisor immediatelyEnsure that no medication is administered without a written, signed, and dated order from an attending physicianChart appropriately and in a timely mannerPerform CNA functions as directed by supervisorMaintain cleanliness and organization of the medication cartExhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patientsAssist in the evacuation of patientsDemonstrate dependable, regular attendanceConcentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgmentCommunicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary teamSit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hoursRead, write, speak, and understand the English languageAn Equal Opportunity EmployerAbout the Company:
